It's great in every aspect except optimization. Random crashes, random hard crashes, random fps drops after an hour of playing... I can't recommend it as it is now.

The Last of Us Part I is one of those games that sticks with you. This was my first playthrough of a Last of Us game, and from the start, it pulled me into a world that's harsh and unforgiving but also full of quiet beauty and emotional depth.
What really stood out to me was how rewarding exploration feels. You're not just picking up random loot, you’re finding comics, training manuals, safes, shiv doors, optional conversations, and collectibles that add moments that build out the world and deepen the story in a way that feels natural.
The crafting system is simple but impactful with accurate animations. Every time you find alcohol or tape, you’re making real choices, do you make a medkit, a molotov, or a shiv? And if you get caught in a fight without being prepared, you’ll feel it. Going in guns blazing usually leaves you scrambling to survive while burning through your valuable supplies. It pushes you to play smart and really think about how you approach each situation.
Combat feels realistic, with noticeable weapon sway and a constant sense of danger. Every bullet counts, and even aiming feels intentionally tough; it makes the stakes feel that much higher. When you mess up, you feel it.
Visually, the game is absolutely stunning. The scenery, backdrops, and lighting are beautiful in this haunting, overgrown world. There were moments where I had to stop just to take in the view.
What makes this game unforgettable is the characters. Joel and Ellie have such a believable and emotional journey, and even the side characters leave a strong impression. The writing, voice acting, and little bits of humor and heartbreak all make this game special.
The enemy design is also really creative. Whether it’s human enemies or infected, every encounter feels different and keeps you on edge.
Rating: 9.5/10 – A powerful blend of storytelling, survival, and emotion that stays with you long after the credits roll. I'm excited to see where the story goes in Part 2.

The Last of Us Part I, when played on Grounded difficulty, becomes a different kind of experience an intense action-thriller or a slow-burn stealth journey where every decision matters. One wrong move can completely shift the momentum, forcing you to think strategically and stay on edge the entire time. Resources are scarce, enemies are brutal, and survival becomes the core of every moment. While this is technically the third time the game has been released, this version feels like the most definitive. The story remains the same, but facial animations are incredibly detailed, the environments feel more alive, and the atmosphere is heavier. Overall, The Last of Us Part I isn’t just a remake it’s a polished, emotional experience that shows why the game is still a classic. With unforgettable characters, tense gameplay, and top-tier storytelling, it’s a must-play for anyone who loves challenge and immersion.

This game pulled me out of a gaming rut, even though I've played it 2 times before. This game is for you if you are looking for a fairly linear adventure with an incredibly well-presented story, impactful exploration, and satisfyingly brutal combat. No issues with the port - played the whole thing with kb&m, frame rate was stable. 10/10, would blow the limbs off a pack of human survivors with a nail bomb again.

After hearing about the genius of "The Last of Us" for over a decade, I finally played this game. So what can I say? I'm rather underwhelmed by this game and that's NOT due to the constant crashes (Probably every 20-30 minutes of playtime the game either just shut down or slowed my PC down to a point where I had to manually close it via task manager) or the FPS drops. I get that this was a PS3 game and devs are probably not versed in making PC ports, but the performance is by far the worst I've seen in a recent release, even more when compared to another PS-Port like Spider-Man Remastered / Miles Morales.
Another very disappointing factor was the gameplay. Even for a PS3-era game it was just mid. Nothing special, nothing groundbreaking. You take cover, you shoot, you run through linear levels and collect stuff.
To end on a positive note: The story is really great, beautifully written and full of memorable, three-dimensional characters. The well-designed world is full of lore and makes you want to explore it, albeit not really being able to, due to the constrictions of the level design.
All in all, I could overlook the rather boring gameplay, since the story and characters more than make up for it, but the CONSTANT crashes and FPS drops makes my experience with this game bad.

Every chapter in this game is art. This is the best game on PlayStation that has been exclusive for a long time. This game is probably known to everyone. I once bought a PS4 just for it... Every time I play it I get unreal pleasure! It's impossible to create something like that anymore.

Its a little bit overrated in my opinion but still well worth playing if you never did before.

There was lot of issues at launch with constant crashes and major performance issues but they fixed it.
Graphics still looks good enough with great set pieces and amazing atmosphere.
With a 5090 + 9800X3D the peformances are fine at 4k ultra settings with DLAA.
With those specs I am always above 120fps without Nvidia frame generation as this game doesn't support it (Radeon sponsored game lol) .

The combat is satisfying with nice gore effects, the seemles cover system works really well and stealth is solid and viable in most areas.
Unfortunately there's a lot of slow paced moments where you're just walking around and also some boring puzzles through the game.
It's a very linear game with a great story, so don't expect an open world or huge open areas.
Now moving on to the controversial part two of the game.
