I enjoy the game a lot but I won't recommend-it. It's Steam fault for using "recommend" instead of "Like".
Why I don't recommend the game? Too much WOKE (way too much woke) and the story is not exactly up to Harry Potter level (not even close). Also this is an Action game as the RPG elements are in short supply or completely missing.
It is an amazing game in terms of graphics and immersive but the voice acting is not, nor the character personalities. All main characters are flat with no complexity or layers like I've seen in Harry Potter films, PC (yes, that is the correct term: "Playable Character" not MC as you see in community hub) is poorly voice acted and overloaded with facial expressions which don't match the dialog. The magic is nice but lacks the development, evolution (like any RPG) and diversity - few spells which can be enhanced a bit by talent points and gear upgrades. Riding the broom is awful and I use am mod to place pitch control to mouse instead of using keyboard. Also poorly use of what was suppose to be factions (houses). No impact in story except half of quest and the location of common room and bedrooms (one house doesn't even have toilets). I am amazed by the graphics and level design but completely disappointed by the the story (lack of it). Also I appreciate the fact that WB involved in controlling the mods (preventing pornification at least officially) but I hate forcing new accounts on official site and modding site only to be able to use mods.
The control is another issue since the game is made and optimised for controllers, while keyboard and mouse (the default configuration of a PC) setup is way too chaotic forcing me in many occasions move my hand from one side to the other of keyboard or use both hands.
Another let down is the puzzle part. I understand this is a modern game for modern audience but there are exceptional low, no brain whatsoever is required.

Even though I don't play RPGs very often, I'm really glad I decided to give Hogwarts Legacy a chance. The main plot, along with the companion quests, was genuinely engaging. Side quests were fine, nothing special, but still fun to do and a good way to gain some XP. The graphics are amazing. It might be the most beautiful game I have ever played. I haven't encountered any serious bugs. I can honestly recommend it.

They need to hire RPG writers that actually know how to write stories.

Game is pretty and flashy. But that's about it. If you're looking for story, go somewhere else. If you just want to tour the castle then this might amuse you for a while, then bore you.

Exploration, graphics and collectibles are high quality. Sadly the main story has very poor pacing and very little is explained, it's looping around the trials while repeating the same lines over and over about how this situation is bad indeed. Some of the side questlines are better than the main one to be honest.

its a great game. ive played it at least 5 times each time a different house!! so cool seeing each of the houses and how they are all so different yet all beautiful in their own way. and the game play is great very immersive!

Not a Harry Potter fan – still loved it!

I went into Hogwarts Legacy with zero attachment to the Harry Potter universe. Never read the books, barely watched the movies. That said, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed this game.

The story was decent—not groundbreaking, but solid enough to keep me engaged. What really hooked me, though, was the gameplay and the world itself. The spellcasting feels great, combat is fluid, and the sheer amount of things to explore and interact with made it hard to put down. Hogwarts is packed with detail and secrets, and I found myself constantly distracted (in the best way) just roaming around.

Even without the nostalgia factor, this game stands strong. If you're into action RPGs with a rich, interactive world, definitely give it a shot.

9/10 – Would recommend, even to fellow Muggles.
