I think I can finally review this masterpiece of a gem. Coming to the end with a few side task and achievements to finish up I have loved every minute of this delightful journey. I didn't know what to expect and was recommended by my favorite Youtuber so I was a little hesitant it was just some sponsor pixel game.
Man, was I wrong everything from the chaotic server nights to new experiences within the deep blue. I was unexpected what you really will endure through this game. I took over a year to finish this, since I wanted to really get on and enjoy this on my days off or after a long day.
I can't even begin to start explaining the quirky WarioWare-esque mini games or the perplex changing style of graphic designs throughout the adventure just had me astonished. Plus the amazing music from mxmtoon, I don't even like this genre yet find myself listening to her.
It's been awhile since I really wanted to enjoy a game, this was one of them.

This game is one of my favorites from the last few years. However recently they keep releasing timed DLCs, the second of which is also paid. You've missed the first one already. If you don't like these kinds of practices then you probably don't want to buy this game.

Really enjoyable game but cant recommend it anymore.
With the new DLC being $7 for a limited time DLC that's like EA level of monetization.
Free limited time holiday events in game where you miss cool and fun items but with to do this with DLC using FOMO is outrageous.
Makes me question what they will do for Dave the Diver 2.

Time limited DLC.
I planned on getting it when it came out but when I found out it was only available to buy for 6 months after release, I avoided it. Game preservation is important, and it's already bad enough in game as a service titles. We don't need this in single player games.

This is one of my favorite games ever; I dream about it and eagerly look forward to playing it every day. It's perfect.

Amazing game, surprised that the price is not that high compared with many other games. I love every effort that the team has put into this game, especially the creative and fun credit at the end. I also found a talented singer - mxmtoon from this game! Thank you MintRocket!!

I never thought I'd enjoy being a slightly overweight middle-aged man, but here we are.
After 10 hours, Dave the Diver has been a cozy experience unlike any other. Catching fish by day and serving them at Bancho’s sushi restaurant at night is very rewarding. The game’s pacing is great, constantly introducing fresh mechanics and surprises without getting too overwhelming. The game's mechanics are satisfying, especially on my Steam Deck.
The pixel art is gorgeous, and the sea creatures and Blue Hole are a visual treat. The OST is solid, with the restaurant BGM being my favorite so far. The details really shine, like Dave's phone filled with funny spam emails, mini-games, and fish trading cards. AND PLUS YOU GET TO COLLECT and use PHONE CHARMS. Also, the cutscenes are so good you won’t want to skip them.
Meeting new characters is always fun, with some having sassy personalities. Dave’s dynamic with his coworkers is adorable. Plus, you get to feed Momo, a cat!
I do wish the restaurant aspect was more fleshed out, and sometimes diving can feel frustrating, especially when fish are aggressive (and they gang up on you). I'm also quite sad that I don't get to play in the restaurant as much as I like to. And I'm upset about my servers pouring drinks for the customers before I can. I enjoy pouring drinks :(
But overall, Dave the Diver is a great bang for your 20 bucks.
