Metro Exodus

The year is 2036.

A quarter-century after nuclear war devastated the earth, a few thousand survivors still cling to existence beneath the ruins of Moscow, in the tunnels of the Metro.

They have struggled against the poisoned elements, fought mutated beasts and paranormal horrors, and suffered the flames of civil war.

But now, as Artyom, you must flee the Metro and lead a band of Spartan Rangers on an incredible, continent-spanning journey across post-apocalyptic Russia in search of a new life in the East.

Metro Exodus is an epic, story-driven first person shooter from 4A Games that blends deadly combat and stealth with exploration and survival horror in one of the most immersive game worlds ever created.

Explore the Russian wilderness across vast, non-linear levels and follow a thrilling story-line that spans an entire year through spring, summer and autumn to the depths of nuclear winter.

Inspired by the novels of Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro Exodus continues Artyom’s story in the greatest Metro adventure yet.

Features

 • Embark on an incredible journey - board the Aurora, a heavily modified steam locomotive, and join a handful of survivors as they search for a new life in the East

The game's fun but it's crashed at least 6 times already and I'm well over the minimum specs

The scenery was beautiful, the gameplay was great and I generally prefer games where you have to define more of a strategy before fighting an enemy. If you like hide an shoot/eliminate like me, you will like this.

I'm trying to catch up with some games and Metro Exodus was one of them.
Beautiful, atmospheric, and very well dubbed.
Have some problems of course like everything, but in the end it's a very good game and well spent time for me.
Not too long if someone wants to complete only the story without getting all the achievements. :)

Short review, Played(Enhanced PC edition[Roughly 18 hrs as of making review])
: Good but not perfect
- Prone to consistent bugs such as heptic triggers no longer working in menus or out of bounds soft locks that can happen
- Repetitive looting, you run out of ammo so fast in the game if you're mindlessly trying to explore
- Unimpressive ending, no epilogue besides one scene but realistically i was hoping for one with Anna as the focus.
- Unskippable dialogue, replaying this game can feel like a chore when you have to sit through solid 10 mins chatting.
- Anna is hawt and strong. But felt too much like a damsel in distress. In this game I wish she saved us a bit more or participated in the same mission more.
- Characters feel lively and not forced onto the player. You can choose not to interact with them if you hate them.
- Boring gun selections. There aren't that many to choose from and usually once you find your fit then you never swap off.

alright whatever i just ranted about. The game is good, i can name more negatives but ultimately I felt satisfied while playing. I was engaged in the map, characters, ANNA OF COURSE, story was fine enough, and the length wasn't bloated to oblivion.
[7/10]
But Anna gets my
[10/10] rating

The biggest and best Metro game! Well as I would hope since they had designed the game from the ground up to be the biggest. The only thing is that the name 'Metro' is just for IP purposes here. No spoilers but the pro log is you and your crew escaping the Metro that we've learned to love over the past two games. Don't get me wrong I do admire this game but as Raycevick said in his review "It feels as if only the first area is the only area flushed out" and I can't help but agree with that statement. It feels as if they were told that they had to 'make an open world game' or it is the case while they were developing the first Metro in that they hadn't made that type of game before. The game play is just as gritty as usual if not more, so if you like souls like FPS like Tarkov, you'll feel at home.

I was really looking forward to playing Metro Exodus, but I was deeply disappointed. I tried to like it, but it can't be compared to the last two games, the game is crap and boring.

The game is totally unstable with a lot of bugs and the developers, I don't know what they were thinking about, couldn't decide whether the game would be linear or an open world and in the end they put open world A TERRIBLE DECISION. If you explore the world, you will only waste your time, there is nothing to be found, only parts for weapons and other materials, nothing interesting, and of course, while you are exploring, mutants attack you, on which you spend all your bullets, and in the end you have achieved nothing!

But that's not all!!! in one area you can decide how to approach a situation but in the next? Oh boy you better follow this exact specific path and avoid killing specific people if you wanna get the best outcome!?!? You have to be careful not to kill the enemy, if you do you get a bad ending, good job 4A games, it's no wonder that most players got a bad ending.

Stealth is INCREDIBLY broken in this game, enemies will spot you through the tiniest of gaps but sometimes they will completely miss you and walk right by you in an open area, it's a joke.

The characters talk non-stop, if I had only listened to what they were saying, I would have spent 15 hours on that alone. Several characters speaking on top of each other, and mouth animations do not match the voice acting. They look totally lifeless. Action is not even good. You are forced to stealth/shoot your way from point A to point B. Everything feels super scripted it is boring. Atmosphere is totally gone for the shake of open world. Visuals may be the only unarguably great thing about this game, but that claustrophobic and terrific metro feel is gone.

For being an open world game you can't jump above 2cm off the ground, and you get stuck in virtually everything. This game seriously plays like a late 2000s game. I also started playing DLC, I stopped halfway through, I have no idea why I started, honestly.

PEAK....JUST PEAK!

Everything about this game is PEAK, best one in the franchise for sure, the first two were insanely good also.

The story, or stories (including the DLC's) were amazing, very well written and in such a way you could get attached to the characters.

The enviroment was just great, the worlds and the atmosphere overall were GREAT.

Gameplay was exceptionally well done, the upgrading system was something new and it was a very nice touch!

I would recommend you this game...no...all of the Metro games, you should play this franchise if you really enjoy post-apocalyptic games, they are simply amazing!

Metro Exodus has such a creepy and dark atmosphere, very very great game that i totally into it.

Note: This is a review for Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition. Steam shows my gameplay duration for the regular edition.
Story
The story is awesome. Unlike previous games, you actually can get to know members of Rangers if you're willing to walk around Aurora (the train) and hear what they say or watch the interaction between other characters. It's nothing groundbreaking, but did a great job of emphasizing the vibe of voyaging across Russian wasteland.
Visual/Audio
The visual is simply eye-catching in maximum quality. While I feel immersed in the atmosphere of the hostile world, I don't really feel horror in dark/cramped areas. The English VA (Voice Acting) is passable, but Russian VA is definitely better with more consistent performance.
Gameplay
Metro Exodus brings 2 major changes to the gameplay: crafting and semi open-world areas. If you bother to explore most areas and loot almost everything, you'll have an abundance of materials for crafting which could make the gameplay much easier. The semi open-world levels are decent, where my only complaint is I got lost a few times and walked a long way since I misunderstood the map. Other than those, the gameplay feels same with previous Metro games.
Other
Unlike regular edition, there's no native SteamOS/Linux version for Enhanced Edition. But using Steam Proton, it runs mostly well on my Linux device. I experienced a few lags, despite my PC specification is above requirements shown on Metro's website. However, I don't know whether it's due to poor optimization or limitation of Steam Proton.

I also experienced a few bugs regarding mismatch between the enemy's animation and action. For example, I took ranged damage even though the enemy had crouching/hiding animation. In addition, the enemy may stuck on the floor or wall where I couldn't damage them and had to either ignore them or wait for a bit until they're no longer stuck.

Metro Exodus is my favorite one among the Metro trilogy (I never play VR ones). On top of that, it's extremely cheap if you're willing to wait for a discount. So unless you hate the semi open-world approach, it's a treat for FPS campaign enjoyer.
