This isn't your daddy's Lara. Hell, it's not even your Lara โ€“ not until you've crawled through every blood-slicked crevice, screamed her name during every death animation (and trust me, you will), and whispered "I'm so sorry" as you made her break fifty necks in a row.
Because this Lara doesn't raid tombs for fun. She does it to survive.
And goddamn, does she suffer beautifully.

We meet her young, bright-eyed, and still believing in ethical archaeology.
Ten minutes later, she's impaled, drowned, kidnapped, burned, emotionally broken, and ready to kill a man with her bare hands โ€“ which she then proceeds to do, with uncanny enthusiasm.
If you're here for the fan service? Don't worry, it's there โ€“ in torn tank tops, dirt-smeared desperation, and those strangely detailed panting sounds whenever she climbs a rope.
Knick knack.
But if you're here for a character journey, buckle up.
Lara's transformation is grimy, brutal, and often uncomfortable to watch โ€“ and that's what makes it work. We feel every fall. Every gasp. Every whispered โ€œI can do this.โ€
By the end, sheโ€™s not a tomb raider because she wanted to be.
She has to be.
And we believe it.

The combat? Surprisingly crunchy.
The bow? Sexy.
The skill tree? Full of โ€œyes, I do want her to stab two men at once, thank you.โ€
And the tombs? Tragically optional โ€“ a quiet reminder that in this reboot, it's less about puzzles and more about people turning into cultist jerky.

Does it lose some of that classic, aristocratic Lara charm?
A bit, yeah.
But in its place, we get vulnerability, agency, and trauma thick enough to bottle.
This isnโ€™t a woman who raids for the thrill.
She raids because the world left her no choice โ€“ and sheโ€™s gonna make damn sure it never does again.

So yes: I love Lara.
Not in the creepy forum mod way.
But in the way you love a phoenix, rising from the ashes โ€“ even if she screams through the entire process and you secretly enjoy it just a little too much.

Amazing game.
I liked the way you level up and the upgrades, the environment is breath taking.
Got to say almost every game from the PS3/XBOX360 era is a masterpiece.

Tomb Raider brings that perfect mix of action, exploration, and survival that made me fall in love with adventure games in the first place. Itโ€™s got that gritty, dangerous vibe with tight combat mechanics and smooth platforming that feels satisfying when you're scaling cliffs or diving into intense shootouts. Whether you're solving puzzles, battling enemies, or uncovering hidden secrets, the game keeps the pace up and the stakes high.

The character progression is solid, you really feel Lara's growth from a scared, inexperienced explorer to a seasoned survivor. Weapon upgrades are well thought out, and the variety of tools at your disposal makes every situation feel fresh. The combat is fluid, and thereโ€™s a real sense of impact when you take down enemies. Graphically, it's stunning, the environments are lush and atmospheric, pulling you into the world of Yamatai, and the sound design cranks up the tension when it needs to.

That said, Tomb Raider isnโ€™t without its flaws. The combat can get a bit repetitive after a while, and some of the AI could be a little sharper. The puzzles can be pretty straightforward, and I wish there were a bit more complexity to them. Some of the scripted moments can feel a bit too cinematic, pulling you out of the immersion, but these are small gripes in an otherwise fantastic experience.

If youโ€™re looking for a game that blends exploration, survival, and a strong narrative, Tomb Raider offers an engaging and cinematic adventure thatโ€™s easy to get lost in. It may have its minor hiccups, but it's definitely worth a play if you love action-adventure games.

I love this game, and even though itโ€™s been around for a while, itโ€™s still just as fun and relevant to play today.

played for the 1st time in 2013, replayed a 2nd time 12yrs after release and even tho the graphics are not super, the game itself is still very enjoyable. nice characters and development (from clean look, to banged up and bruised), nice looking maps and explorable areas, enough different types of enemies and behaviors, and most of all, a fantasy like, thrilling story that keeps you motivated to keep going on. a single run 100% item collection took about 30 hours and honestly, looking at some achievements missed, it shucks that you can not replay a specific chapter in the game, but overall a classic to love.

When it comes to storytelling, this game makes many mistakes with cheap sacrifices, Lara freezing at inopportune moments, and then charging into situations out of emotion rather than reason at other moments.

The game mechanics are rough. I can't decide whether the developers just didn't know how to work with a 3D environment or if they deliberately made things more difficult for keyboard and mouse to simulate controller gameplay. Either way, game mechanics are annoying.

My third big issue with this game is camera control. Cut scenes pop up without warning. One moment you can be fighting or scrambling for your life, trying to anticipate the next move, and suddenly you have no control because an unexpected cutscene starts that doesn't even feel like a cutscene at first. There are also many places in the game where you are forced to use specific camera angles while trying to navigate terrain which will hide the path forward from you.

Overall, this feels more like a game designed for people who like to do speedruns rather than play for story or RPG.

amazing gameplay . absolutely worth buying , the game got so immersive in between . the whole world building is great and the mechanics and puzzles feels amazing . graphics are great too , modern AAA games should learn

Gameplay is clunky and the camera shaking made me almost not finish this shit. Also the writing is what you'd expect from a terrible action movie.
