At least this version runs decently on hardware that isn't a NASA supercomputer!

Steam pulled a fast one and didn't include the deluxe dlc when it should have, says I own it and everything but now I'm expected to buy the entire package again for 20 bucks to get the extra DLCs, yeah bullsh*t.
Steam and Bethesda need to do for this game what they did for the DOOM games, just simplify the listing and give everyone who owns it access to the Deluxe content by default because this is straight up dog sh*t

In light of the Oblivion Remake being just around the corner, and Skyblivion releasing this year (hey, Bethesda, what the hell?), I figured I might finally review my favourite Elder Scrolls game... sidenote: Those are just my Steam hours, I played this a lot more as a child.
Long story short: I think Oblivion is better than Skyrim.
It is like a chaotic mediaeval improv show powered by spaghetti code, enthusiasm, and the sheer will of Todd Howard. It's a fantastic game — if you don't mind a lack of polish, lots of nonsense, and your game crashing for the fifth time due to all the mods you installed.
You start the game off by being greeted by Sir Patrick Stewart — I mean Emperor Uriel Septim VII — who, for some reason, has dreamed about you... okay, I know you're the Emperor, but please slow down. Yeesh.
Actually, scratch that, before that, you will have spent an hour creating a character that some might call junk, but you definitely think they're treasure, to hell with the potato face comments. After that, you get insulted to the face, no matter who you're playing, and THEN you get to be the object of the emperor's dreams. Fun!
Fight your way through, yada, yada, the real treasure are the friends you make along the way — not you, adoring fan. Never you. Slowly make your way up the Dark Brotherhood by, have a Brush with Death, or perhaps you fully embrace how ridiculous this game is and go straight to Sheogorath's Realm. The Shivering Isles await!

10'/10 still remember 2006 guides written on gaming magazines, just so much beautiful memories, what a great game.

My favorite Elder Scrolls game. Much more personality than Skyrim to me, but not as much of a slog to play as Morrowind.

my fave out of all the elder scrolls games and my gateway to the franchise. i've been playing it for years and it's still as charming. it has its flaws but they can turn out pretty funny.

Im just here reading comments, hoping you young guys got the inside scoop on the remake. i'm 38 years old and it kinda feels like this game and ES6 may be the last games i enjoy. Not sure yet if that's from me aging or the quality of games with good story telling has gone down the crapper. Prolly both.. Sure hope they put this out soon!
