The tutorials are thorough and excellent for someone like me, an older beginner who loves trains and railroading but is definitely NOT an expert gamer. Instead of tensing up in a game whose controls mystify me, i'm becoming comfortable and beginning to enjoy myself.

Lots to do and learn, fun game putting you right in the drivers seat!

a cool game with many train mechanics, its missing some of them like connecting wires and pipes during coupling or setting up MU, and the DLC's are expensive as hell, as if the game isn't already. if you are a broke person with no money don't buy it, if you have a decent salary then i recommend it.
6/10

game itself is great. the problem is that all the DLCs are highly overprized and often contain bugs, that will never be fixed. there are DLCs from TSW2 and TSW3 that still exist and make certain scenarios just impossible to complete.
but the game itself is worth having, though cash grabbing with all the DLCs, so giving it a thumb down.

Game is really fun and Flying scotsman is lovely to run in this game!

On the Thomas dlc I am unable to fully complete it at "diesel and the fireworks" when you push a few cars upto the wilton down platform, take the up platform track past the station and back up into the cars, I get stuck at the red light before you back up, it stays red, I wait and wait, nothing, I try to pass it incase it might be a visual bug, nope, I get "dangerous to pass red" and start over screen

The train simulator market needs more competition. Currently, I can't recommend it in its current state. The DLC's are preposterously overpriced for what you get. The map detail is often somewhat poor and the routes are often short. Many of us would like to see more metro routes, and city transit. It's an enjoyable game at times, but it's flooded with bugs and poor AI. A shame.

Its so realistic and is really fun. I love the game and it show real way of really driving a train (I think)

Train Sim World 5 – A Meaningful First Step Into Train Simulation

Train Sim World 5 marks my very first experience with a train simulator, and as someone who has loved trains since childhood, it’s been nothing short of incredible. From the moment I started the game, it felt like stepping into a world I’ve admired for years from the outside.

What impressed me most is the level of realism and attention to detail. The environments, the weather, the sounds, and especially the interiors of the trains—everything is crafted with care. Driving the Class 350/1 has become a personal favourite of mine, not only because of its modern feel, but also due to the satisfying rhythm and flow of its timetable.

The learning curve for a newcomer like me was smooth, thanks to the intuitive tutorials and helpful in-game guidance. It’s approachable without compromising on depth, allowing players to gradually take full control of complex systems and procedures. Every successful journey feels earned, and there’s a real sense of pride in sticking to the schedule and mastering each service.

I’ve committed myself to completing the full Class 350/1 timetable in the game, and I’ll be streaming this journey nearly every day over on my Twitch channel: twitch.tv/sergeantbillson. If you share a passion for railways, simulation, or simply want to follow the experience from a fresh perspective, I invite you to join me.

For me, Train Sim World 5 is more than just a game—it’s a deeply nostalgic and rewarding connection to something I’ve loved for years, now brought to life in a way I can fully immerse myself in.

The only downsides to this game is the price tag that it comes with, will be looking at buying more content when its discounted during a sale as the deluxe edition needs a bit more added content. !

Expensive, but I liked it. It's really detailed and realistic and finally DTG has made something good (just like most TSW games). Just wait for a Sale or something if you wanna buy DLC's or the game itself.
