God of War
The best game of 2018 — despite criticism from some players and critics who argued it did not deserve to win — merits a deeper examination.
From the very first scene, the game captures the player's curiosity regarding the reasons behind the unfolding events and Kratos’ presence in the Norse world. The story begins engagingly from the outset. As the narrative progresses, even more intriguing developments occur (which I will not spoil here). Overall, the opening moments of the game are truly masterful and far from tedious.
Turning to gameplay, God of War offers an exceptional experience reminiscent of Souls-like mechanics, intricately blended with fantasy elements found in titles such as The Legend of Zelda and Genshin Impact, while also drawing inspiration from Miyazaki’s Dark Souls.
The compelling story, alongside the emotional father-son relationship between Atreus and Kratos, is portrayed so powerfully that it evokes genuine emotion.
The game’s artistic graphics are remarkably realistic, especially with the release of the PC version.
These are just a few reasons why God of War truly deserved its accolades at The Game Awards 2018.

Everything about this game is great, except the puzzles, the puzzles just make it genuinely insufferable, staying in the same boring ass location for 20 minutes trying to figure out how to gtfo, it's so boring, genuinely one of the most boring games I've played. Which is a shame because everything else about the game is great and I really wanna love it. Just please make it an option to skip puzzles, or give the player an option to get a hint on how to solve them, cause for now the game is just so incredibly boring that I for one genuinely don't think I can finish it. Which sucks when I spent 50 euros on it, and I didn't fucking spend all that money to solve some lame ass puzzle all the damn time. ):

The story and storytelling is great, the combat system and it´s depth of possible tactics und strategies is encouraging, the pacing is almost perfect, the graphics are beautiful and you also learn something about nordic saga. SO 10/10

Played all GOW games before, all were fantastic. Lots of carnage, lots of fighting, lots of enemies, lots of fun.
This time barely any fighting, no mob variety and most of them were annoying, story sucked compared to ones before. Wasn't expecting any of that. Playing with an axe sucked also
